SMATV Systems

What is SMATV (Satellite master antenna television)?

SMATV is a community distribution system for signals received through satellite, terrestrial networks or radio. Multiple satellite signals are connected to multi switch. These switches will distribute signal to the end user. End user can use appropriate satellite receiver / decoder to get the channels.

How SMATV works?

For SMATV, you need to install a satellite dish and TV antennae in order to receive programming from satellite providers and local broadcast networks. These antennas are attached with several racks of electronic equipment, which tunes in the channels you choose for your cable lineup & combines them into a single cable signal.

The outdoor unit comprises of antenna to get free air satellite TV programs. A larger antenna is used to receive signal to make sure that the signal to noise ratio is good.
